It is said that a significant percentage of elephants in Mozambique, Africa have evolved to become tuskless. Why this mutation? Well, the decades of civil war saw rampant poaching of elephants for ivory trade to fund the civil war. Survival skills led them to mutate over 2 decades such that new genes got passed over.
This is not a blog on biological mutation but I have always been of the opinion that businesses world over will need to adapt, change with times - to be relevant.
With this mindset we are on a constant endeavour to keep changing / re-inventing to keep Vidhaatri in tune & relevant in our market eco-system. I call this Business mutation ( in the market sense not from a legal / hierarchal sense). While there are many mutations that we have induced into our company , for the purposes of this blog let me dwell on just two snippets.

Our strategic Alliance with DAMON:
Our market ecosystem of material handling, storage, logistics systems & equipment’s is going through a paradigm shift towards automation given the scale of projects at hand. It was time for us to reinvent ourselves in this space in order to be relevant and in the reckoning. When handling a market eco-system that brings scale & automation there were 2 key aspects that struck me:
Technological collaboration
Local flavour of execution & price competitiveness
With the above two premises we set forth our agenda for collaboration with DAMON and entered into a strategic alliance with DAMON - Leading provider of intelligent logistics systems and core equipment’s. It’s a win-win situation for both companies & I believe collaboration if the order of the day
Electrification:
Being an ardent reader, particularly in Business cases , I came across a new piece that read “India will have 220 airports in the next five years and over 50 airports in the country will be carbon-neutral by 2024 “
This had strongly registered in my mind & coincidently a longstanding customer of ours asked for Vidhaatri ’s help in a prototype manufacture of an Electric Bag Loader Conveyor for airports. Electric in this context meant battery operated. With over 50 airports in the country having embarked on a journey to become carbon-neutral by 2024 , look at the potential at hand. I jumped at it and we successfully made the prototype.
So, being in tune with the happenings in the market place is key. Disruption in technologies, across business & across market places seem like a new constant. Catching up meant constant mutation. Those who mutate with the times stay on. And I want to STAY ON!
